Finding The Perfect Razor

As you embark on the epic journey of wet shaving, you soon realize that you need your very first double edge (DE) safety razor. So where does one begin? Like shopping for a new car or television, there are many different makes and models. They come in a variety of styles and price range. You can spend a little or a lot. Even some of the most economic razors, deliver a great shave. Perhaps you found your grandfather's razor?  Some of the best shaves I've had are with vintage razors.  So ultimately, one might consider 3 things when buying their first DE safety razor: style, quality and of course price.   As with all things, some razors are good, some are...

End of Year Reflection- The Best and Worst SOTD

Today is December 31st.  As we get ready to usher in the new year, it seems that I should reflect on the best and worst shave of the day (SOTD).  However, before I dive into that, I should truly reflect on how lucky I am to have a wonderful customer base such as yourself.  Even if you're not a customer, I truly appreciate your likes, your loves and your comments on social media.  So much of my success is owed to people like you.  From time to time, someone will take the time to write me with ideas or suggestions.  Many of the changes we made in late June and July to our website were based on customer feedback.  Like...

These oils are designed to help soften the facial hair. The benefits of pre-shave...

SOTD? YMMV? BBS?

SOTD, SOTN, BBS..... what's with all of these abbreviations? Those in the world of wet shaving will recognize them as Shave Of The Day, Shave Of The Night and Baby Butt Smooth. I'll admit that my first few times visiting shaving forums, all of these "code words" left me confused and made me realize there is more to wet shaving than just a razor and some soap. Wet shaving has its own language and its own lingo. Learning it is part of the experience and ritual- one that should be enjoyed as much as the shave itself. I can't say with any certainty where these abbreviations came from. I suspect that the internet has something to do with it because, quite...

The Ritual of Wet Shaving

Wet shaving is making a resurgence.  Men everywhere (and women) are rediscovering this art.  Since my company focusses on wet shaving, it only makes sense that I dive deep into the subject.  As you'll soon discover, like many things, wet shaving is often a personal preference.  Whether you use a disposable razor or safety razor; a brush or your hands; a mug or a scuttle; a soap or a cream, ultimately the choice is yours.   That is, you can invest in as little or as much as you want.  There are not a lot of rules about wet shaving but  there are a lot of guidelines.  More than anything, I want you to enjoy the experience- the ritual of...
