Inspired by flights over the wild, untouched landscapes of northern Manitoba, North of Fifty shave soap captures the rugged spirit that helped launch my company. Handcrafted with care, it builds into a rich, creamy lather that softens hair and cushions skin—delivering a smooth, comfortable shave every time.

North of Fifty opens with a subtle citrus brightness from Sweet Orange and then warm notes of cashmere and amber, lifted by subtle hints of basil and clove.

At its heart, the base is quite rich and woody, anchored by Mahogany, Teakwood, Cedarwood, and Oak that evokes the scent of a well-worn cockpit and forest air after rain.

The Amber, Sandalwood, and Tonka notes bring a smooth and warmth to the scent — adding a “soft, golden glow” to the fragrance’s heart.  Imagine the warmth of a cabin stove and the calm of northern twilight.

North of Fifty isn’t just a shave soap. It’s a journey. A reminder of the northern skies, the cool air, and the sense of calm found only above the fifty.

North of Fifty first launched in 2017 and over the years, both its scent and shave soap formulation have evolved.  Unfortunately, we had to retire North of Fifty from our line up when the artisan behind it decided to close shop and pursue new opportunities.  

For nearly a decade we've proudly carried Henri et Victoria shaving products, and we're thrilled to now be collaborating with them.  They've taken on the challenge of reimagining North of Fifty, and we're exited to see how they reinterpret the scent for this special release.
