A Year of Suds, Smiles, and Shipping Mayhem- A Stone Field Shaving Co. Reflection


As the year winds down and the scents of pine, peppermint, and freshly-opened aftershave drift through the workshop, I’ve been taking a moment to look back on the past twelve months. It’s been a little bit of everything—the good, the bad, and yes… even the ugly. 

The Good

Let’s start with the part that keeps me going.
This year I welcomed so many new customers into the Stone Field Shaving Co. family—people discovering traditional shaving for the first time, or returning after years away. And just as meaningful were the repeat customers who continue to support this small Canadian business.

Every order, every message, every photo you tag me in—it all reminds me why I love doing this. Your support means more than you know. It keeps this little venture of mine running, growing, and dreaming.

The Bad

Now… shipping.
If I had a dollar for every time a parcel took an unexpected vacation across the country, I could probably build a custom Stone Field aircraft hangar and stuff it full of bubble wrap.

Shipping delays, tracking numbers that read like cryptic puzzles, parcels that seem to go sightseeing— and are still sightseeing....well- it hasn’t been easy. Behind the scenes I’ve spent countless hours emailing, calling, refreshing tracking pages, and occasionally offering a pep talk to a box headed out the door.

I’m always working to make it smoother, faster, and a whole lot less chaotic.

The Ugly

And then… the decision.
The one I didn’t want to make.
The one I tried to avoid for as long as possible.

Suspending USA shipping.

Trust me—I hated doing this. But companies and artisans across Canada didn't have much choice.   Thankfully,  we've had some brave pioneers who are blazing the trail for the rest of us and I hope to get shipping restarted in the new year.

 I can't wait until the day I open the doors again to my U.S. wet-shaving friends.

Looking Ahead

Even with the bumps and detours, this year reminded me of why I started Stone Field Shaving Co. in the first place: community, craft, and connection.

Whether you’ve been with me from the beginning or found me during a late-night search for “best shaving soap Canada,” I’m grateful. You’re a part of this story, and I don’t take that for granted.

Here’s to a new year filled with great shaves, smoother shipping journeys, and far fewer “your package has been delayed” emails.
