Eddie's Shave Soap

I wanted to introduce a shave soap and splash inspired by my travels to the Hawaiian islands. Honolulu is still one of my favourite layovers.
Scent Notes: Tangerine, Guava, Nectarine, Carnation, Teakwood, Basil, Green Bamboo and Musk.
Eddie's is a rich and creamy shaving cream soap that's unlike any other of its kind on the market. Extremely soft and almost like a shave cream.
It's uniquely formulated with beef tallow & enriched with fair trade shea butter. Using a small amount of the cream soap & an adequate amount of water -- it whips into the most luxurious, glossy lather with lots of cushion & slickness. The post shave effects with your skin are truly amazing & need to be experienced first-hand to truly appreciate its artisanal quality.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Wet your shaving brush. Shake excess water from bristles. Dip the tips of your brush directly into the cream soap – or alternatively scoop an amount and place in a lather bowl. Build your lather adding warm water until a thick, rich, dense lather is achieved. The longer you work the brush, the richer the lather! Apply the soap with your brush evenly across your face. Shave as usual. Apply more lather as needed for additional razor passes. Discontinue use if rash or irritation occurs.
Inspired by a true story
Eddie’s shave soap is based on the life of Eddie Aikau. Eddie was a lifeguard and surfer in Hawaii credited with saving over 500 people.
In 1968, he became the first lifeguard hired by Honolulu to work on the North Shore. Not one life was lost while he served as lifeguard.
“Eddie Would Go”
Aikau was a legend on the North Shore, pulling people out of waves that no one else would dare to do. That's where the famous saying came from
Eddie would go, when no one else would or could.
In March of 1978, Eddie volunteered as a crew member of a Polynesian canoe to recreate the Polynesian migration. The canoe developed a leak and capsized. Eddie used his surfboard and paddled for help. Eddie was never seen again. The rest of the crew was rescued and Eddie’s body was never found.

I worked with Linda from Purely Skinful Handmade Essentials to bring this story to life in a new shave soap and splash set. The scent notes are inspired by Hawaii and Polynesian influences.
